What are you afraid of?

I am always wondering why so many gays are still imprisoned in themselves even when they and the rest of the world know they are gays. I am talking about those who think they must maintain some sort of emotional and professional self-defence and the price of this is ignoring other gays, not going to gay places and leading a life with emptiness but showing the others they are just fine...cool!
Please, my dear readers do not become one of them and more than that show how much you are happy being who you are. Some may not be happy at the moment, for emotional or professional reasons, but never allow yourself to be unhappy for what you are. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being gay, we live in a country without repression of any church and even the state is already giving us the chance to legally unify our relationships with the one we love.

So why are there still so many self-destructive and unfriendly-acting gays making ”Ježíš Maria“ faces for all those who choose to live the life in the way it fits them better? I'm not saying that gays should live in Pink dresses but look at an example: I have friends gays and lesbians, and everybody knows they are gays, but they have some kind of neurosis that shocks me, living in the XXI century, they are not able to add Diva Noxx on their facebook because in their fragile mind, even they like me, a Drag Queen is still synonymous of taboo and destroyer of reputations. Now tell me, isn´t it stupid and sad? What, nobody prepared them to the new millennium? Nobody taught them to love themselves just the way they are? Yes, because only after you learn how to love yourself you will be ready to accept differences, isn´t it the fear of being pointed as different, unequal and freak that you are afraid of?

Believe big Mama dear, do not waste your life depending on the approval of others to be happy. Very often people who are gay anticipate that they are going to be put in a 'one-down' position in certain communities and professional relationships, and I really respect the conscious choice to keep that aspect of themselves under Caps, but I insist to say that they do not know how big will be the damage in their life.

Be happy... be proud of who you are... be gay, be lesbian, be hetero, be Drag, be sexual addicted, be freak, but be yourself and treat the others with respect. All the rest will come after!

With Love....Diva Noxx
