Undertow

Peruvian movie Undertow, is in the race for an Oscar nomination.

So far, 11 out of 100 films that were submitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have been selected for Best Foreign Language Film as The milk of sorrow did last year.
The next step will be selecting nine films, from which only five will be nominated to win the golden statue.

The 83rd Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 27 in Los Angeles (US), so there is still a flittle time to know whether the Peruvian story of a homosexual love will make it to the red carpet of the Kodak Theatre.
Also the only Nicaraguan production filmed in the last 20 years was nominated. La Yuma, which tells the story of a young girl who dreams of becoming a boxer. So, let´s wait!
