Christopher And His Kind is a drama that chronicles the formative years of writer Christopher Isherwood in Thirties Berlin. A time that happened to coincide with a period of great sexual freedom in Germany. A freedom that came to an abrupt and horrifying end. Filmed in Northern Ireland a month ago, Christopher And His Kind is a biopic on writer Christopher Isherwood (Matt Smith) breaking from his suffocating mother, Kathleen (Lindsay Duncan) for the hedonistic lifestyle of Berlin between the period of 1929-1939, the events that inspired the musical, Cabaret.
