Facebook has decided to create two new options in the user profiles. After talking to some LGBT organizations, the company decided on the "relationship" will be added 'In a civil union' and 'In a domestic partnership'.
In places like the United States, Canada, France and the UK the new options will be available next week, and users can choose to 'civil union' when they are married and "domestic union" in cases where the couple is "living together".
Communications manager for Facebook, Andrew Noyes, said the initiative aims to "provide options for people to reflect on the state of the relationship of his friends. "
